The gaming laptop is a special thing. A device packing desktop-level gaming performance into a machine that's a fraction of the size. Of course, this does come with some compromises, including the cooling necessary to maintain high frame rates in the latest games—in short, they can be real loud—but the main thing is they're often so much more expensive than an equivalent desktop gaming PC. Which is why we're here to deliver you the best gaming laptop deals to help save a buck or three.

There are new RTX 50-series GPUs for laptops on the shelves now, though they are obviously the pricier machines and less prone to a sales discount. And even though we are heading into Memorial Day, the likelihood of finding a bunch of RTX 5080 laptops on sale is pretty low. But not impossible. We've already seen the MSI Vector going for a relatively solid price.

But we've also found a good selection of deals on great RTX 40-series lappies. Stock has been running tight in the face of the new models, and that, in combination with some tariff tomfoolery, is certainly making good laptop deals harder to find than they used to be. Still, we stand behind every laptop on this page—although it's worth mentioning that good prices for RTX 4080 machines have all but disappeared at this point, so we're leaving them off this list for now.

Below, we've curated a selection of the best budget-friendly gaming laptop deals we've spotted online. that this list isn't exhaustive, but these are the gaming laptop deals we believe are worth your money. And check back regularly because the best cheap gaming PC deals, too.

Let's be upfront about this—8 GB of RAM is not enough in 2025. But when you're talking about a gaming notebook that costs around $600, with a half-decent RTX 40-series GPU inside it, I can swallow it. Especially when you can easily upgrade the RAM with just a wee screwdriver in hand. And 16 GB of fast dual-channel DDR5 is just $50-odd right now. The RTX 4050 is just a 75 W variant, so not the outright fastest, but will still definitely do the job at 1080p. For this sorta money, that's all you can ask.

Even with new Nvidia laptop GPUs on the way, it'll probably be a while before we see a truly budget mobile RTX 50-series. So for those saving the pennies, this $800 RTX 4060-sporting Lenovo is still a good deal. It's got a decently speedy screen, 16 GB of DDR5, a 115 W TGP GPU, and, err, a very small SSD. Still, it's the easiest thing to upgrade in a mobile machine, and at this price it's very difficult to find more gaming laptop for your buck—and likely will be for a while yet, too.

The price may have fluctuated recently, but this is still one of the cheapest RTX 4070 gaming laptops you'll find in a market that's increasingly starved of stock. There's a decent AMD gaming U, a reasonable amount of dual-channel memory, a speedy screen, and that all important GPU to play with. The 512 GB SSD is small, however, but you can easily upgrade it with the spare NVMe slot inside.

There are precious few all-AMD gaming laptops out there, largely because AMD made precious few actual laptop GPUs. The RX 7700S is one, and it's a decent pixel-pusher, but with the usual Radeon caveats, i.e. no Frame Gen fun, and some difficulty with heavily ray-traced games, such as Cyberpunk 2077. Other than that it will often beat a high-powered RTX 4060. This machine also has a great ing spec alongside the Radeon GPU and the eight-core Ryzen U. The 165 Hz 1200p screen is good, but the 32 GB of memory and 1 TB SSD are also welcome at this price point.

You know what I hate? Gaming laptops with just 512 GB SSDs. A 1 TB SSD is not an expensive thing, so why do manufacturers still persist with so little storage? Thankfully, laptops like this HP Victus with a paucity of SSD space also come with a second SSD slot in the back. That makes it a super-easy upgrade when you run out of space, without having to replace your OS or anything. Likewise, the Victus 16 uses standard SODIMM for memory so you can upgrade the 16 GB RAM down the line, too. The 120 W RTX 4070 is one you won't have to rush out and upgrade, however, as it's a quality GPU at this price, and so is that AMD processor, too. In fact, it comes with the 780M integrated graphics that run most handhelds, so you can get some good gaming battery life by switching off the Nvidia GPU when you're away from the plug.

With a 110 W version of the RTX 4070, with wee Acer machine has plenty of grunt about it, and that 120 Hz refresh 1600p will make a really crisp screen for a 14-inch laptop. You're also getting a full 1 TB SSD alongside your 16 GB of soldered memory (no upgrades happening there) and a decent Meteor Lake U at its heart. It's one of Intel's more efficient chips, with six Performance and eight Efficient cores, which ought to help with the battery life of this portable machine. And it's a pleasingly affordable price right now, too.

I was a huge fan of the Asus 14-incher when I first reviewed it last year and while I'd hoped it's price would come down more in the intervening time (it's quite pricey for an RTX 4060 machine) I still love the form factor and the fact it's got the best mobile U inside it. It means you can actually turn off the discrete GPU and still game on the integrated chip saving battery when you're on the go. It's the same processor as in the best handhelds, but it's also a quality computing chip in its own right. And with this spec it's backed up with 32 GB RAM and a hefty 2 TB SSD, too.

Sitting somewhere under the RTX 4080 and well above the RTX 4070 in of gaming performance, the RTX 5070 Ti promises to be a great mid-range laptop GPU. And with this $400 discount that's exactly what we have here. I've used the new Vector 16 HX AI for weeks, and have been hugely impressed with the RTX 5080 version, and I've no doubt the RTX 5070 Ti system will be as effective. The 1200p IPS screen is a good match for the GPU and U, which is of 20-core Intel stock. But, ack, another 512 GB SSD. Why?! Thankfully there are two M.2 slots in the system, making it an easy and cheap upgrade down the line.

I know, I know, it's a lot of cash. But the truth is, it's difficult to find RTX 50-series laptops for anything less than silly money right now, and this one's got the big boi RTX 5080 for a just about reasonable sum. Our Dave has been playing with this particular model recently and likes the value proposition you get when you take into that mega GPU, although it is a bit of a hairdryer on full whack. Still, stick it in Balanced mode and the noise is much more reasonable, and it still performs about as well as the other RTX 5080 machines we've tested. Which is to say, very well indeed.

The Legion Go is one of the more polished handhelds on the market, with a sleek 8.8-inch screen and detachable controllers. That screen is a little overkill for the lil' AMD chip inside this machine, the Z1 Extreme also found in the ROG Ally, but it's great for playing indies on while relaxing. One of the controllers also becomes a mouse if you need it, which is a bit of a gimmick but works pretty well. The main downside here is the small SSD, but it's a pretty easy upgrade later on.

The downside here is you're getting an older, 12th gen Intel U. The upsides? Many. It's rare to see more than 16 GB of RAM and a proper 1 TB SSD at this price, but here we are. Some of the parts might be older, but you're getting a fair chunk of gaming laptop hardware for the price.

Another superb combination of components in a Gigabyte laptop for a very reasonable price. The G6X has a speedy 165 Hz screen, a decently powerful Core i7 U, and a 105 W RTX 4060. Okay, it's still a lot of money to pay for an RTX 4070 laptop, but we're big fans of the new Asus TUF models.
